The representation of sexuality in contemporary Urdu novels is not merely associated with physical desire or sensuality rather, it functions as a serious literary discourse reflecting social contradictions, class divisions, patriarchal oppression and psychological complexities. This article explores how contemporary Urdu novelists use sexuality as an artistic and intellectual device to expose exploitation, power structures, and human vulnerability instead of promoting obscenity or sensual pleasure. Focusing on selected novels by Muhammad Hafeez Khan, Muhammad Asim Butt, Younus Javed, Rafaqat Hayat, and Tahira Iqbal, the study argues that sexuality in these novels emerges as a reflection of social injustice, moral decline, gender politics, and institutional power.
