Pakistani Urdu Ghazal Par Tanqeedi Behsain

Abstract

In the decades of 60s and 70s, a number of critical essays and discussions
on Pakistani Urdu Ghazal were published in Urdu literary magazines. Different
literary critical trends can be seen in different literary magazines in this regard.
As a whole these discussions and critical essays played an important role in
understanding the trends and explaining the poetic theme of Pakistani Urdu
Ghazal. On the other hand this situation gradually promoted the criticism on
Pakistani Ghazal.
This article shows the prominent trends and discussions of the decades of
1960s&1970s published in literary magazines, and also comments on the overall
situation of criticism on Pakistani Urdu Ghazal.
