Urdu Novel Kaisa hona Chahye

Abstract

"The origins of storytelling /anecdotes and myth dates back to the start of
human life. Myth gave way to the birth of novel. Novel is an important genre of
Literature that has just been born about no more than three centuries ago. It has
been introduced to Urdu literature from English literature. It is considered to be a
more developed form of myths and anecdotes. Its subject matter deals with the
representation of human life. Novel, no doubt, is an art form and all the art forms
are the mirror reflection of life. A novel must have coherence and unity for its
subject matter and form are related to each other just like the body and soul.
Preferential treatment of human values is an important feature of the novel. Each
one of them does have the quality of being significant and it promotes nature. The
novelist recreates his imaginary world for the readers. Novel is the mirror of life
but this mirror reflects life in a deeper and charged way. This thesis sheds light
upon these features.
