Naat Rasool Maqbool in Hindko Language and Literature

Abstract

Naat had been originated from the time of Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH). His contemporary was the poet Hussain bin Thabit and even
after him many Companions recited Naats. The Hindko language is
more than five thousand years old and it belongs to the Indo-Aryan
family of languages. The words of all the early poets of Hindko
language are found in the form of Sufism and Sufism after
Hamdunaat. Naat was received in Hindko poetry through Urdu.
Hindko is a historical language, widely spoken and understood in the
Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan areas of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa. This article is a detailed insight into the development,
acceptance and evolution of Naat in Hindko.
