Nostalgic Elements in the Novel “Basti”

Abstract

Urdu fiction is rich regarding its work and also for its well renowned
its fiction writers. Urdu novel’s age is almost 120 to 125 years.In this
era Urdu got the world’s famous fiction writers who were also
recognised at international level. Intizar Hussain is one of those
writers who are the legends in Urdu fiction and got the praise due to
his different writing style after the creation of Pakistan. Partition and
migration are the major parts of his fiction that is why he was called a
nostalgic person. We found so much nostalgia on his fiction so as he
was directly affected during Partition. In his most stories we found
the terrible memories and incidents related to the migration which
affected him mentally and emotionally so he expresses his feelings
through his stories many times. He wrote many novels. Basti was his
first important novel in which we found nostalgia which basically
belongs to issue of the migration.
