“Tareekh e Adbiyat e Urdu” Par Aik Nazar

Abstract

Garcin de Tassy was a famous French critic and professor of Urdu. He
wrote several articles and books on Urdu Language and literature. However, he
used to write in the French language. His History of Urdu was translated from
French into Urdu by Liliane Sixtine Nazroo as her PhD thesis. This translation is
an important contribution to the historical accounts of Urdu. Dr. Moen Ud Din
Aqeel has edited, annoted, introduced and published this translation. The present
paper is its critical review.
