Abstract

Mysticism in Urdu poetry is as old as Urdu poetry itself. Mysticism
came in Urdu poetry through Persian Poetry. Most of Urdu classical
poets present different topics of Mysticism like peace, tolerance,
spiritual observations, mortality, immortality, Wahdat-ul-Wajud,
Wahdat-ul-Shahood and harmony. From Wali and Siraj to Ghalib and
Iqbal all classical poets gave the message of peace, harmony, love and
harmony in their poetry. There were many poets in Urdu who were
Practical Sufis and associated with different school of thoughts of
mysticism but peace, harmony and humanity was major topic of their
poetry which put a deep impact on society. Main purpose of this article
is to indicate the Urdu classical poets who were practical Sufis.
