Abstract

The article discusses the notion of depiction of nature as an
extension of realism. Endeavours are made to depict the true picture
of life without giving any moral judgement as a conclusion. Its traits
are found from the end of the 19th century in France. Depicting
nature was for the first time introduced in that era. Apart from
didactic works discussion and open expression of individual and
social evils were stated. Starting from Europe, it also affected the
subcontinent literature and Manto, Chughtai, etc rose to be some of
the greatest flagbearers of showing true nature in the garb of realism.
Mostly conventional taboos are keep under emphasis in this school of
thought.
