The poetry of Allama Iqbal, at the end of the nineteenth century, not
only blew new life of positive character in the consciousness of that
era but also emerged as confluence of cognizance in which the
younger generation of past, present and future were given the lesson
to fly high and refrain from lethargy in vision and efforts. Iqbal used
the process of this lesson to younger generation for improving their
morality and to act upon the practical role of the firm faith. Even at
present, while his concept of eagle (Shaheen) is popular, the symbol
of vulture (Kargus) is helpful in putting the moral values of the
society at the right religious angles. In this article, while discussing
the symbols of eagle (Shaheen) and vulture (Kargus) in the context of
Iqbal’s poetry, attainment of positive ethical and religious values are
discussed for accomplishing the restoration of positive moral values
at the present time.
