Abstract

After 1857 war of independence, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who was one
of the advocates of Hindu Muslim Unity and who was struggling for
the welfare and education of Indians, got dissatisfied by Hindus
hypocritical behavior soon and turned his efforts only towards Indian
Muslims’s education and welfare. This major change is considered an
important turning point of Pakistan movement as well. It is said that
Urdu Language was the main reason behind Sir Syed’s decision.
After that Urdu linguists started to prove significance of Urdu and its
grapheme system. This practice continued in Pakistan and many
notable research examples of Urdu grapheme appeared. In this article
some modern works on the topic have been analyzed.
