Zahid Daar was a modern poet of new poetic era, was born in Ludhiana India in 1937 and later on migrated to Pakistan during partition. He was migrated with his family but his soul couldn’t leave his birthplace and golden days of his past, so he dwell all his life in the search of lost age and time. He was so sensitive person that he couldn’t walk with society and remains unchanged to adopt the new pattern of materialistic life. He confined himself in his Utopia but couldn’t get rid of from the sufferings of humanity, in this way his poetry in the form of blank verse becomes the sigh & cry of tumultuous society. Melancholia is the basic element of his poems. There are many reasons of human sadness, on the one side industrialism is attacking the humanity, while on the other side there is unfavourable social sentimental situation and its created violence, the third angle is under the fetter of traditions. So, in his poems the man who is going to present by him interject the clamour of modern society and has no way for the compatibility. Zahid Daar considers that the ignorance, oppression and ferrate clamp of traditions are the main inducer of social suffering. So in his poems he tries to find the ways for the security of man’s inner and outer self but can’t succeed inspite of cultural restoration. This article throws the light upon the basic elemnt of his poetry which is social unrest & riot.
