Comparative Study of the Akin Sufic Notions Of Abdul Rehman Baba & Allama Muhammad Iqbal

Abstract

Literary history of Pashto and Urdu had extensively been influenced by two prominent intellectuals and poets; Abdul Rehman Baba and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, respectively. As, Sub-continent remained cradle of civilizations and nourished collective wisdom of the people; the impact of which has also been observed in religious, spiritual and cultural practices. This article focuses on the efforts of the above-mentioned prominent poets regarding true spirit of Sufism in the region. The scholars have applied qualitative / analytical approach of research. The finding of this research article state that the poets strived to portray true spirit of Sufism in their poetries and criticized the thoughts and philosophies intermingled with Sufism.
