The Narrative Study of Resistance in Azim Amrohi's Elegiac Poetry

Abstract

In Urdu Marysia, the resistance is portrayed by describing the events of Karbala and by condemning the Yazidi oppression. Azeem Amrohi is an eminent poet, the core elements of his elegiac poems are aim fullness and resistance. The purpose behind his writings is to break the chains of brutality, barbarism and oppression, so that our broken humanity can heal. His style of describing general social situation of his time is quite rebellious. He write numerous elegies to challenge and to destroy the enforced system of oppression. In his elegies he has expressed anger against negative values like social injustice, dirty politics, poverty, ignorance and termism while doing rating the cruelty of the tyrant with his intellectual eloquence, he shared great part in success of elegy as a genre. Over a time, it is likely that the genre of elegy will get its recognition and acknowledgment.
