Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find elements of resistance against colonial policies in Mir Taqi Mir's slogans Where Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Deputy Nazeer Ahmad, Akbar AlaAbadi, ShibliNoumani, Altaf Husain Hali, Krishan Chandra, Preim Chand and Saadat Hasanmanto's literary writings reflect the Neo-Colonial influences;At the same time, we have also find the elements of resistance against colonial attitudes in the poetic works of MirzaRafeeSouda, Nazeer Akbar Abadi, Meer taqi Meer, GhulamHamdaniMushafa, Sheikh Ibrahim Zoq, Momin Khan Momin and MirzaGhalib.In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the poetic work of Mir Taqi Mir in the context of colonialism. In his poetry, Mir describes the western atrocities mete out to the natives metaphorically.  His poetry unveils complete understanding of the exploitative policies against the people of sub-continent. This article tends to present a true picture of British imperialism and the colonial depredations.
