Abstract

Urdu, the national language of Pakistan is gradually fading. The reasons might be the lack of interest from students. No matter what grade they are in, they don’t take this subject seriously that affects their grades as well. Furthermore, most of the content in the books is pretty lifeless and dull that can also be one of the reasons for Urdu’s downfall. Apart from that, “Urdu as a second language” is mostly neglected or are is not given much importance like the other subjects. In my opinion if Urdu had not been compulsory for “BISE and “CAIE” the language would have lost it identity completely.
