In this article, the author has reviewed the speculations about the origin of the Urdu language, what is the opinion of different linguists about the origin of Urdu? Some call Urdu the developed language of the dialects of various regions and tribes. No one has the final proof of where Urdu started. Urdu and Hindi are structurally the same. However, the writing style and vocabulary of the script have separated the literary and academic aspects of both languages. Hindi is written in the Dev Nagri script and has Sanskrit origins. At the same time, Urdu became the language of Muslims by mixing Arabic and Persian. Urdu is probably the only language in the world whose origins and development have been linguistically debated and research disputes are still ongoing. All these theories have one thing in common. Among them, the origin of Urdu is based on the arrival of Muslims in the Indian subcontinent. In this way, the language that came into being after interaction with different people and local influences is called Urdu but there is a difference in determining the location.
