Abstract

Sir Sayed Ahmad Khan is considered the founder of the two nation’s
theory and the pioneering leader of the Pakistan movement because
of his cultural, political and religious services. The nationalistic
services credited to him in the perspective of Pakistanism need to be
revisited with reference to his own writings. When Sir Syed's theory
of nation is reevaluated through different aspects, it becomes selfevident that he never considered the Indian Muslims a separate
nation. He had a secular mind and was out to better the economic
conditions of the Indians in general and the local gentry in particular
in order to get them into management services so that a bureaucrat
class and respectful masses should be made available for the help of
the British Government. These were the very objectives of his
educational, cultural, political and religious reforms.
