Abstract

Discussion of cultures and their respective places in different cultures
is the coming field in literature. In Pakistani context, while discussing
culture and its relevance to literature, the name of respected scholar
Professor Karrar Hussain is of singular importance. Discussions of
literature and culture and their interrelationship was a topic on which
Polyglot like Professor Karrar Hussain has penned great contribution.
Through his analytical studies, the great professor has elaborated
specific patterns of life followed by the people. Culture is
manifestation of a living society; it is dynamic and ever changing
with the pace of life and life. It is important to note that one state
might be multi- cultural in different respects. An attempt has been
made in this study to take in different scholars and their respective
stances with regard to cultures and civilizations and their
